M.E.F. Services Ltd. was established in 1999 by Stephen J. Melling, CFP, EPC as a broker and consultant firm in the areas of personal lines insurance, and group benefits analysis and implementation. “Steve” started in the industry in 1988 as an agent of a major Life Insurance Company and went on to start a brokerage firm named Melling Estate and Financial Services.
We became specialists concentrating on Estate Planning and Benefit structures over the years which resulted in a name change when we contracted our services to national investment firms such as Midland Walwyn, Merrill Lynch, Wood Gundy and National Bank Financial. Assisting their clients in our areas of expertise we grew to be one of the largest independently owned firms in our market of Western Canada.
As well, we are proud that we established an extensive network of experts in all areas of financial management for our clients. From simple to complex client situations, we deliver holistic solutions personalized to the client’s situation and wishes.
M.E.F. Services Ltd. announced in March 2024 that it had partnered with Acera Insurance Services Ltd. and was joining the firm’s specialty Acera Benefits division.
This partnership will provide local businesses with a broader suite of group benefits and retirement savings solutions, as well as personal lines of insurance. As part of this partnership, M.E.F. Services Ltd. will transition to become Acera Benefits.
